Effect of Fibre Glass Addition on the Mechanical Properties of Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Composite

A fibre glass reinforced polymer was developed, using epoxy resin as the matrix material and E-glass reinforcement, by hand laying method. Different set of composite were produced varying weight percentage (wt%) addition reinforcement to follows 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% 50%. The polymeric so subjected various mechanical property tests hardness, tensile, impact, tests. hardness test conducted TQ SM1000 Universal Testing Machine, tensile strength carried out on Hounsfield Tensiometer model while impact Izod Impact Machine. It observed that properties higher values in composites with different fractions than unreinforced resin. also found those increased directly proportional amount highest residing 50 wt% reinforcement. value for GFRP stood at 57 BHN, 332.7 MPa energy 17.5 J/m2.
